I got to spend a little time in the workshop today. I mixed up a batch of proseal (running way low) and decided to cover up the inspection access plate. I used encapsulated nutplates, but also prosealed the rivet heads and flange all around. Some may say that it's overkill, but I am ensuring that there will be no leaks there at all.
I also prosealed the rubber ring on the floptube for the left tank while I had the chance.
I also installed the Hotel Wiskey fuel bung kit for the extended range tanks that go into the wingtips. A pretty simple install into the outboard rib. The brass plug will be replaced by an AN822-4D fitting. It's much easier doing the install now and gives me the option of putting the extended range tanks in if I need them.
The bung kit is positioned at the top rear outboard rib at the highest point of the tank. With the bung kit, you get pop rivets to install. I went with 426 rivets instead...nice and simple. I had to hand countersink the #40 holes for the flush rivets..non-event.
I'll order the return line for both tanks tomorrow and once the proseal arrives, I'll hopefully have this tank completed in the next week.
